Vacuum pump removes solvents in seconds, though I'd prolly use the rotovap first to remove most of the solvent then the high vac pump ... ether and methylene chloride are gases at room temp and very low pressure ... so is water :wiggle: Celite is just expensive {lab grade} diatamaceous earth that is a good quick filtering agent  :oz:

Anyways, if you need it fast just take dried calendula, pulse it a few times in a coffee grinder {preferably clean}, extract with alcohol your choice of ethanol or propanol, then warm gently and let it sit for atleast an hour or two, then filter through a coffee filter.

You now have a couple of choices ... use as is or concentrate. If you want to concentrate it you have a couple of options as well as requirements based on what type of alcohol used an how much water is present BUT one way or another at this point you'd have your calendula :carp:

:woe:

Well I should hope so

By the way how much do you need? If it's just a few drops of pure calendula oil at a time You can make a simple press from :carp: around the house or buy the :carp: from a hardware store for less than $10 :dunno:

If you are thinking of expanding into some alternative sales angle you probably should look at manual screw press expellers next ... I like http://www.piteba.com/eng/index_eng.htm

I had one very similar to this but an EX snagged it before she left :fist: I found it at a swap meet for $5 All you need is something strong to bolt it to and a slave to turn the crank and you can oilify just about anything :bliss:

Anywho I'm not saying you should get the piteba ... I just happened to noes it :wiggle: Also cleaning it easily takes an hour

I predict it will be quite :roar: when only
half of the yard is spectacular.

He will be out there going
and I will just be watching.

:muaha:

Then I'll prolly tell him what I done.

:tease:

Or not.

Well, of courses, he will say that.

To which I will reply...well, you see...I wasn't sure
if it would work and I needed a control factor in
the experiment.  So the unplanted part is that
control factor.

Then I will say, after all... I'm a scientist.

(don't know why this site has their 's all f'ed up, but it seems fitting.   )

The Scientist
Coldplay

Come up to meet you, Tell you Im sorry, You dont know how lovely you are

I had to find you, Tell you I need you, Tell you I set you apart

Tell me your secrets, And ask me your questions, Aww lets go back to the start

Runnin in circles, [sounds like] Comin our tails, Heads on the science apart

Nobody said it was easy
Its such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Aww take me back to the start

I was just guessin, At numbers and figures, Pullin the puzzles apart

Questions of science, Science and progress, Do not speak as loud as my heart

Tell me you love me, Come back to haunt me, Oh when I rush to the start

Runnin in circles, [sounds like] Chasin our tails, Comin back as we are

Nobody said it was easy
Aww Its such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard
Im goin back to the start

Ahhooooooooooooooooo
Ahhooooooooooooooooo
Ahhooooooooooooooooo
Ahhooooooooooooooooo
